Cosmetic Bonding

If you’re looking for a fast, economical solution for aesthetic dental problems you might want to talk to us about composite resin bonding. A similar material as that used for white fillings is skillfully layered and sculpted to alter the colour and shape of the teeth. In the hands of an experienced dentist this minimally invasive procedure can be used on one or numerous teeth with great effect.

The advantage of dental bonding is no loss of tooth structure while restoring your smile. At Hope Island Dental Care the health and function of your teeth is important to us, so Dr Jacobs is an advocate of Dental Bonding.

Fix these problems with Dental Bonding

  • cover imperfections in the enamel
  • close small spaces between teeth
  • repair chipped teeth
  • improve the overall shape of the teeth

The advantage of dental bonding is no loss of tooth structure while restoring your smile.

DR PHILIP JACOBS

The Dental Bonding Process

A colour is selected to match your teeth – there are many shades of white – so using a shade guide and experience helps. Dr Jacobs will usually use a soft whole mouth retractor called an optragate to keep a perfectly dry, unobstructed field when working. After prepping the surface of the teeth with a solution to create a good fix for the material he starts layering and sculpting. Once all is in place a high intensity curing light is held over the finished work to set it to a glossy, tough finish.

Many patients are surprised how easy it is to solve little problems that have bothered them for years using the dental bonding process. We are ready to help you so call Hope Island Dental Care today.
